Day 1
08:00Hanoi city tour
The One Pillar Pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Hoan Kiem Lake with Turtle Tower and Ngoc Son Temple, egg coffee, the Temple of Literature and Tran Quoc Pagoda. Lunch at 12:30, finish at 15:00.
Day 2
08:00Hanoi → Ninh Binh
Hoa Lu (Vietnam's first capital), Trang An (a boat ride among limestone mountains) and Mua Cave with a view of the valley. Local lunch, check-in to a 4★ hotel.
Day 3
07:00Ninh Binh → Ha Long: cruise
Port registration at 11:30, cruise from 12:30: caves and rock mazes, swimming, kayaking and sunset. Four meals on board, a night on the ship.
Day 4
Ha Long → Hanoi
Sunrise on deck, breakfast, an extra stop at one of the bay's well-known places, return to port and a transfer to Hanoi. Arrival around 16:00.
